We all know life can be busy & our time is so precious, but having an organised home is hugely beneficial to your wellbeing & every aspect of your health.
I wanted to share something that I know will help lots of you.... Micro decluttering.
When you look at the areas within your home that could do with clearing & would benefit from better organisation it can often feel overwhelming & like a mammoth task.
Micro decluttering breaks that mammoth task down into smaller, manageable chunks, ultimately giving you the same desired results.
Here are some ideas to lessen the overwhelm & still make great progress.
Each month declutter between 5 - 10 items from your home. This can be things like... excess mugs, clothing you no longer wear, childrens toys, books, out of date food items, broken items that are beyond fixing, the list is endless.
Use my proven '15 minute method'
We all have a spare 15 minutes in our day. Set a timer for 15 minutes, focus on just 1 area, play your favourite music for motivation & get stuck in. You'll be surprised at how much can be achieved.
Once a week take a wander around your house with a basket/container/bag for life and collect up the items that aren't where they should be and return them to their rightful place.
Always have a donation bag or box on the go. When you come across an item you choose to let go of, pop it into the donation bag, when your donation bag/box is full take it to the charity shop.
Declutter by area. Choose 1 area within your home to look at during the month & break it down. If you choose your kitchen for example, declutter & organise 1 cupboard or 1 drawer per day, once the cupboards & drawers are complete focus on surface clutter & so on.
I hope you have found this a helpful read & will put some of my tips into action.
Happy decluttering!
