Money saving tips.

Writer: Carina PopeCarina Pope

In the current climate saving some money here & there is definitely helpful.

I've put together some of my top tips to help you save a pound or two.

  1. Know exactly what you have in your house, whether that's food, cleaning products, toiletries or clothes. If you know what you have & when certain items need replacing or topping up you're less likely to duplicate or buy products/ingredients that you don't need.

  2. Check your subscriptions! Are you paying for subscriptions you don't use or need? Cancel them & save your money.

  3. Don't be sucked in by 'special offers' '3 for 2' that sort of thing, only buy what you need.

  4. Keep an eye on your mobile phone contract if you have one, switching to sim only is a much cheaper option, you can keep your current phone & existing number.

  5. If you need to shop for new clothes for you & your family try places like Vinted & local second hand shops. Try swapping clothes with friends as-well, its a super sustainable way of shopping! (Vinted is also an amazing place to sell your unwanted items & gain some cash back)

  6. Write a shopping list & meal plan in advance & try really hard to stick to it. Only buy the items on your list, if possible use smart-shop at the supermarket, it's so much easier to keep track of your spending.

  7. Live within your means, budget, don't splurge if you can't afford it or its likely to get you into debt.

  8. Sign up to loyalty schemes such as Tesco club card, Sainsbury's nectar card & Lidl plus. great savings to be made & even freebies to claim sometimes!
