You've all heard of spring clearing/spring cleaning. Personally I think its important to clear your space at the beginning or end of each new season, removing everything that doesn't serve you or bring you joy any longer.
Life evolves, kids grow, hobbies & interests change and some of the items in our home become dormant & just start collecting dust.
If they are no longer serving you or bringing you happiness, it's time for them to leave your home & be used for purpose somewhere else by someone else while creating space for the things you truly love.
I find spring & autumn especially motivate me to declutter, move furniture around, deep clean & generally create a space that makes me happy.
Each new season brings its own unique clutter challenges & opportunity for a refresh.
Winter.. look at blankets, throws, Christmas decorations, winter clothes, cold/wet weather gear & kids toys (before Christmas) Declutter your paperwork & digital clutter in preparation for a new year.
Spring..tidy the garden removing old pots, dead plants etc, look at sheds & garages & organise your gardening tools for the upcoming season. Also have. look at the kids garden toys checking they are still fit for purpose & safe to use.
Summer.. holiday items such as suitcases, backpacks & other travel bags, suncream, toiletries & summer clothes.
Autumn..your candle/wax melt collection, halloween decorations & kitchen cupboards.Put away your lightweight summer gear & dig out those warmer jumpers. As we start to spend more time indoors declutter your most used living space.
So, as the seasons change, embrace the opportunity to declutter & refresh your home & garden allowing you to enjoy a clutter free space every season.
